Basque Fest

At Easter, Bilbao becomes a basque cultures festival. The Basque Country originated in the Paleolithic. It´s the only European ethnic group that maintains its own language that does not come from Latin: Euskera.
With a millenary tradition, hidden between mountains looking at the sea, our people have maintained these customs until our days.

The streets of this UNESCO creative city are filled with activities such as sokatira, kalejira, jai alai and hand ball, Basque dance, bertzolaris (“Basque rappers” who improvise conversations in verse), stalls with traditional cuisine such a talo*, local corn tortilla filled with txistorra**, chocolate or cheese, txakoli, Idiazabal cheese (declared European gastronomic heritage) …

Between the 12th and 16th of April Basque Fest will offer more than 200 activities to all who come to Bilbao. We will show you everything you need to see and more, whenever you want, all adapted to your leisure or business events!
