Started in the year 2000 and still under construction, it has not nevertheless, prevented that more than 1.5 million people wearing a helmet have walked between scaffolds and ditches enjoying the unique perspective.
We access The Santa María Cathedral through its foundation and up to the tower. We discover the crypts, the nave, the round pass, the clerestory and, paradoxically, we end at the entrance, in an incredible portico that was once polychrome.
Its porch with perfect acoustics makes it the perfect spot to host flamenco, folk, jazz or classical music concerts.

Next to the cathedral is the Salburua Park, one of the most valuable continental wetlands in the Basque Country, Ramsar Wetland of International Importance and Site of Community Importance (SCI) within the European Natura 2000 Network.
You can take different paths to walk across the park which surround and connect the main lagoons. The Interpretation Center of Ataria and two bird observatories help to deepen the environment. Autumn arrives and marks the start of the rutting season, when you can listen the bawls of the deer; There are several species of water-birds and some come here to take a break during their migration. A place that brings great energy.
When the night comes, after seeing the sunset among the reeds of the park, we will have dinner at one of the great restaurants of the city, toasting with the wonderful wines made in this land: Rioja Alavesa.
